Food Foraging In April In The UK

I've always been keen on the idea of 'foraging for food', but often stop short of committing fully to the consumption of anything that I have identified - I guess I don't trust my ID skills enough.

However, a combination of:

have given me the confidence to attempt to forage and (the brave part!) consume what I find, so join me in this fourth monthly instalment of what I hope will be a series that I can continue throughout the year.

This month saw me locate and identify Garlic Mustard (Alliaria petiolata), Common Mallow (Malva Sylvestris), Gorse (Ulex europaeus), Alexanders (Smyrnium Olusatrum) and Dandelion (Taraxacum), I'm also pleased to say that I was able to convert several of those IDs into some tasty additions to supplement the weekly food shop!
