Many products will work for you straight out of the box or off the shelf, it's what they are designed to do as a 'minimum viable product.
A lot of the time this is good enough. It will deliver what you need, when you need it, how you need it.
Take for example a map. From the point you purchase a new map it will do what it was designed to do, no problems at all.
