Back in 'the old days' the concept of lightweight camping wasn't really important to me as a combination of being
young
fit
generally less injured/creaky/knackered
meant that carrying a tent that weighed a couple kilos / ~4.5 lbs (minimum) wasn't a big deal.
Fast forward <cough> several years <cough> and as I'm now
older
less fit
much more injured/creaky/knackered
the idea of carrying as little/as light a set of gear as I can afford is suddenly much more appealing than it was back in the good ol' days.
I started to look at the gear I was carrying and came to realise that whilst a lot of it had stood the test of time for many, many, many years, it was also many years old in terms of it's material technology, design and construction resulting in it being heavier than it's modern equivalent.
The 'Big Three' when it comes to weight are typically your
Pack
Sleeping system
Tent
so I set off in search of a tent that could replace my ageing Vaude Taurus 2.
Following many hours of pouring through tent reviews I opted for the Nordisk Telemark 2.2 LW (Lightweight) tent as my 3-season option.

After almost 12 months of usage in the Snowdonia National Park of North Wales I'm very happy to report that it has become my 'go to' tent, often selecting it over my Hilleberg Soulo (which still finds favour when the conditions and forecast dictate it.)
The video below shows my opinion after several months of usage.
